First Page on Google Search

I wouldn't place too much trust in the Google Keyword Tool, it calculates it's numbers strangely, especially in foreign demographics. Calculations are sometimes bizarre, as in millions of searches out. It's good for a guide though, just don't rely on it too heavily.

Forum Promotion has a great brand term that is used for searching by forum administrators to advertise and promote their forum. They search for forum promotion to try find the best forum to promote on and FP pops up with little effort. For my blog I try to aim for Traygon and Richard Edmonds, but have let them both go slightly. But when a post is published elsewhere and is a great hit, I get many long tail search terms ranking and such. I love how the SERP's evolve around real time information publishing and Search Engine crawling.

Nice to see you again Traygon, welcome back.

I'm quite surprised at that and would like to read more on it. Would you by any chance have a link with further information on that?

Do you have any similar tools that you would recommend?

My forum is the on the very top of the first page if you type in futurama forum, beating out the biggest futurama forum which has been around for 10 years lol

write in manutdbuzz and we are top of the page 1 type in man utd forum and we are nearly top of page 2

Thanks, good to be back. Too many new faces though. For throwing a few blog posts into the picture:
http://www.ppcdiscussions.com/2008/07/h ... -tool.html
http://smackdown.blogsblogsblogs.com/20 ... t-numbers/
http://www.search-engine-war.co.uk/2008 ... te-is.html
(Of course it has been updated since those posts but still the fact remains there are some reports elsewhere, shall dig them up later when I get home)

I'm not saying it's wrong, or bad or anything of the sort. It is a good tool, just be weary of any abnormal figures or when using multiple languages the numbers may not add up. Especially for Russian, I would use the tool Yandex offers. Using the tool almost daily I find some searches such as bingo for instance providing numbers as high as 64,000,000 exact match searches for the UK alone, both you and I know that is past the stage of 'impossible'. Being random glitches it is still strange to see them.

Also, with each number given (with exact matches for example) each stage is roughly 80% of the number above. Example:
[free bingo] 49,500
[bingo sites] 40,500
[online bingo] 40,500
...
[no deposit bingo] 14,800
[bingo game] 12,100
[free bingo games] 12,100
[play bingo] 12,100
[bingo uk] 9,900

Not that we use, Google Tool is good enough for general use 😛 I'm just being a moaning, grumpy idiot as per usual.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to post all that useful info Traygon. Very interesting, I had assumed that the Google tool would be very accurate. Just goes to show that you should never assume and you learn something new every day.
