I bet it would take atleast more than 2 years.
Its a complete rewrite, with a new framework and a new theme. It would take a lot of time.

You shouldn't expect to. There's going to be an entirely new architecture for plugin development.
 
I'm hoping to see some more info on this with a rough release date. MyBB has always been one of my favorites but I tend to go for the paid stuff because of support and an appearance of professionalism.

I'm guessing this will be pretty big though and I might start a project with mybb at some point.
 
Glad i continued to stay and support myBB.

Even though its a complete rewrite, meaning all the themes and plugins wont work - im still looking forward to it.
 
Well according to the blog, the theme is already done 😛 It looks like it will be TONS easier than it already is to base edit MyBB to make it work for you.
 
If the plugins and themes don't work on there that means I will be wiating until some good ones will be made
