Out of 10 I'd probably give it a 7. I feel it could be improved still and while it's your first attempt, it's still a good template. Keep up the good work.
So I have been looking at this and thinking about what everyone has said about it being a "rainbow" of colors.
But the way I see it, if you take out the content, then the colors are consistent. Let's say if I bought the design, then I Would not have a lot of the same content, some of the colors are there because they are sponsor images others are there to add to the style of content.
Wow! This is the best "first design" piece of work I've seen. However there are a lot of ways in which you could improve.
A darker border on the green bar.
A bit of spacing in the middle content area. Add some spacing to the top and bottom of it.
Add borders, shadows or a light, black outer glow on the transparent boxes.
Take the separator to the right off next to the last icon "abc" in the footer.
You have something special. You're not like some other people who claim to be designers who are really not. I'm impressed. Keep up the good work and carry on with design! 🙂
