I voted no, but in retrospect I guess it is. Definite skill and physical endurance involved.

Yes of course, it can be either. Fishing tournaments or just fishing to eat.

I grew up fishing, and it is def. not a sport. It does require skill and/or knowledge, but in my opinion it is definitely not a sport.

How do you define it as not a sport then? As it needs skill and knowledge and also involves fisherman competing against each other? Is that not the definition of sport?

I believe in sports, some form of injury needs to be possible. You can't really get injured Fishing.

I actually Fish quite a lot, but I don't consider it a sport, it's more of a hobby, really can't call it a sport if drinking is one of the main parts of the event.

Until you don't check behind you and catch someone's lip on the back swing. 😉

I guess I consider fishing a sport, though it doesn't really matter. Just depends on your personal definition of what a sport is.

More like a leisure sport kinda thing. But yea, i think it can be considered as a sport.

i would say its a sport, been in a couple of tournaments last year and defo requires skill, patients, and good knowledge this is why i dont win i lack these lol, but i enjoy it very much

Ya, i would say it is a sport.
If it requires Skill and patients, and also has a tourny then yeah it is.. :/

Of course. It's just like archery. There need not be any running etc., but there is accuracy, endurance, tactics and patience which are key elements in any sport.
