Flappy Bird is closing down

Wait, what? This is surprising. Only a few days ago I saw a short news about this newly popular game on TV, now it's to be taken down? I wonder why. The reason from the article sounds to weird for my ears.

I read he wants to return to his simple life in Vietnam which is a poorer country compared to US, UK, and Germany. I'm guessing many people in his country in Vietnam are asking him for money after reading the news that say he makes $50,000 in Ad revenue per day.

People in Vietnam are very poor because of the Communist government, and the way Communism makes most people like villagers, farmers, and factory workers very poor while government workers are richer.

There are also people who just make apps, websites, games, and other digital content for fun, and don't really like being a celebrity because they rather be left alone. I'm guessing he maybe shy, and quiet in reality, and being famous for Flappy Birds is making his life less calm.

I thought this was interesting. The concept of the game is so simple, and to think it turned into something that generates $50k in ad revenue a day is crazy. I was definitely surprised to see someone give up an opportunity like this, but hearing about how he wants to return to his life in Vietnam before Flappy Bird is understandable.

Umm.. to be honest.. what is flappy bird? I saw some of this video of Youtube few day back but I did not care.. LoL! =p

It's just out of the App Store. If you got it before he closed it, it's still there. I still wanna break my phone. 😛

Lots of phones with Flappy Bird installed selling on eBay for a lot of money!

Not really. They are being offered for a lot of money, but I have yet to see any high bids. I will be interested to see if they actually sell.

I've seen one with a bid of £2,000 ($3283.40).

That's ridiculous. I would never shut down a successful money maker like that. Sell it if you don't want to deal with it, but don't let all of that hard work go down the drain!

I read on http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/02/1 ... 66121.html that he did not want people to play Flappy Birds because it was too addictive, and he felt people were playing it too long.

I guest the Vietnamese Communist government also secretly got involve because he also had a meeting with Vietnam's deputy prime minister.

He also won't benefit much from earning a lot of money because communist/socialist countries like Vietnam and North Korea has high tax rates, so he will still be poor even if he earns a lot of money because of the higher taxes he has to pay to the government. He also may also attract unwanted threats to his life from the mafia, and criminals who may want some of his millions of dollars per year he earns with Flappy Birds if he kept it.

I've got the APK and the IPA stored on my computer im sure plenty of people with jailbroken devices will get them aswell, it wouldnt be suprised if it was on cydia at some point

People are selling their iPhones for over 5000$ with Flappy Bird installed. smh

eBay has taken down a few auctions doing so.

So many people trying to sell their phones with flappy birds for such ridiculous prices. I just checked Kijiji, they're shutting these ads down fast but in the past 30 minutes there were seven phones with flappy birds for $500+ added in my city alone. I wonder if people are actually buying. 😛
