So if you have been catching up with the new software's that are making their way through the internet land, you probably have seen something about Flarum, a new kind of software that's pretty much redoing the way softwares look, and work. With Flarums beta software getting ready to be released in the coming months, I thought I would share and see what everyone here thinks about Flarum.

Here is a link to their demo site, which doesn't have too much on it considering it's not in it's beta stages quite yet, but it has something. 😛

My company had EsoTalk, a software by the same people who are making Flarum, and I liked it. It was outdated and not really maintained, however it was simple, (blazing fast) and worked like a charm for most of what we needed. So I'll definitely be giving Flarum a try, however I don't see Flarum being really popular with niche forums. 😛

[..]more modern than I would have hoped for.

How so?

Anyways, it seems kind of like Vanilla to me.

The whole "tags" ordeal, I am more into the whole standard layout of boards rather than the "grid" view they are going for.

Wow, that's some pretty good software. 🙂 I like the UI concept! It's pretty similar to a UI I was considering making a software for a while ago actually. 😛

I'm not sure whether this will take off or not, but I think it has some good potential!

I dont like overly simplistic software like that. I prefer a more complex one with structure and organization.

I'm glad I am not the only one. 😛 I find simple forum designs like that nice but I don't see how it could possibly support a community of any medium or large size.
