I know I sound like a real ignorant person to have to ask this, but it's been a couple of years since I made any changes to Crafter Craze. I want to change the color scheme for my current theme to purples and I have all the purples selected and will make the changes in my stylesheet.

Okay, so once I replace my stylesheet in cpanel (my FTP connection no longer works), how do I flush the cache? Things have changed and I have no idea where to look.

Thanks

Any reason why your using FTP, I would just do the uploads in cPanel directly into the public HTML

I'm not using FTP since my old settings no longer work. I'm forced to do it through cpanel now. I haven't updated anything in a long time and I used to use FTP because that's how I always updated any type of site for the past 25 years.

who are you hosted with? DO you have access to CPANEL?

If you have server root, graceful reboot (in WHM) does a similar job. It flushes most, if not all cache(s) running on the server like the amount of users online.

But, I recommend updating cPanel before doing this. Update kernel, server updates, and cpanel updates all at once to not waste your time back there.

I am NOT familiar with phpBB, so don't take my advice as 100%.

EDIT: If you want to get off phpBB, buy xenForo, there is a importer plugin. If that is not successful then find MySiteGuy here.

F.Y.I. I have a few licenses to sell.

To flush the cache in phpBB, login and go to the Admin Control Panel.

Scroll down just below the site stats and you'll see some options to resync things and at the bottom of the list, click the button to 'Purge the cache'.

Go into cPanel and open up your file manager. Go to your forums files and folders and you want to go to the root of the phpBB installation where you have folders like adm, files, styles, vendor etc etc.

Find the folder that says cache and view the contents. You should have a folder in there called production. Delete the production folder.

That should wipe any and all caches and force your forum to recache everything which is when you should see your style changes.

Just going to compliment this with a picture from the ACP as it took me a while to find the button when I first started using phpBB again recently 😅

I wanted to say THANK YOU for these perfect instructions!! I actually had them in hand once I redesigned my stylesheet and was ready to upload it. I have to confess that it had been a couple years since I last did anything with the site and was a bit nervous. But your step by step instructions were spot on.
