I've personally never been in an airplane, and I'm scared of it just because of all of the accidents that have happened in the past with other airlines.

Do you like flying?

It's actually safer to fly than it is to drive. I've flown only a few times and I was nervous at first since I'm afraid of heights, but I loved it. As long as I feel like I'm on something solid, I'm good. Ladders I don't do.

I have toyed with the idea of getting a pilots license before, still may do it sometime.

I had my first time flying, and it was scary when it is about to fly as it accelerates. But it only lasts for a while and then the next thing you see are the clouds or the buildings which are so small on that point of view.

I've been flying on planes overseas since I was 1 years old. I'm very used to it and personally, I enjoy it a great deal.

I don't really like flying per se, but I do fly about 10-15 times a year. Although I must admit that I simply loved flying the new A380 on Emirates last week - such a magnificent plane and the service was top-notch too!

I've never been flying but it's not something I wouldn't mind.

It's just as safe as the modern vehicle if not more.

I think the rate of airplane accidents is lower than other transports.
I don't often fly in airplane but I like it. It's fast and comfortable.

It's way, way lower, but since the planes can hold hundreds of people at a time, and any accident that happens tends to be 100% fatal, they just make the news.

Maybe think of it this way: in 2014 over 30,000 people died on the roads of the US, whereas in 2014, touted as a pretty dark year for aviation, only saw a little over 1000 deaths. And that's worldwide.

This, definitely.

My #1 advice when it comes to flying: fly first class if you can. It's much more comfortable, especially for a long flight.

I'd agree, if it wasn't economically not making any sense at all. When you can fly an intercontinental return in coach for $600 and first costs like $4000, there is no way that the upgrade would be worth the price. A double I could still justify if the plane was something else than an A320  but many times over it just makes no sense. If you're too big to fit in a regular seat, just pay few bucks to get an exit seat and you're all good.

The price can vary a lot. It can get expensive when you're flying more than one person, and also paying for the return flight too, though.

True, but you don't even have to fly with someone, and one-way tends to be more expensive anyways. And usually first makes business look cheap as well, lol.

But really, the only time business/first doesn't have an outrageous price, is when flying a small plane with a small distance - and then the upgrade doesn't make any sense. I'd love to fly business/first as much as the next guy, but it just isn't economically feasible for the majority of us.

I do. While there are accidents inflight, I don't let it hinder me from what I want to do or go. After flying my favorite form of transportation would be trains.
