Hmm. Well, let's examine the advantages and disadvantages of both names, shall we?


Red Herring
+Literary meaning.
+Potential for lame puns and metaphors based on said literary meaning.
+Rolls off the tongue.
+Matches my team's color.
+Red Eyes.
-I suppose it's possible I could be confused for a fish. Although there is no such thing as a real living "Red Herring" species of fish.

Black Bass
-No literary meaning
-No potential for lame puns and metaphors based on a literary meaning.
-Just doesn't roll off the tongue so much as its counterpart.
-Does not match my team's color.
-Black eyes seem a little masochistic to me.
-I would most definitely be confused for a fish.

They may not be my favorite, but I certainly very much like them. Cats are quite adorable creatures. And when it comes to cats and dogs, I am definitely more of a cat person.

Secondly, I feel a cat is the best signet in regards to representing myself. The general personality fits, and I much prefer an animal as an avatar rather than a humanoid or symbol/logo.

Tis Halloween, and to get with FP's own Halloween spirit in name changes, I decided to be completely unoriginal and replace "Herr" with "Ghoul." Instant generic Halloween name that still fits with my original name. Huzzah!
