I think most people would choose food. Should these people be ashamed?

There are allot of people that doesn't get enough food

But isn't it easy to "sell out" to get what you want? But is that noble behavior?
more thinking on terms of homeless people that need it the most.

The homeless need it most. But it's certainly a shame they exist at all - and even more so - these amputees begging outside shopping centers. Give me a break. I mean, couldn't a church try to help them?

well, no idea. A place to pray

I think slaves are made by food because people aren't so tough when their belly is aching!

Reminds me of India or poor country's that works unless hours everyday. And still can't afford food for there family to live for an week

The Bible has a huge verse on this where Jesus chooses honor over food (temptation in the desert) and also there is a similar passage where a rich man chooses the opposite (money over following Jesus' flock).

A form of recognition is far more important than a Big Whopper. That's all I'm saying.

There are definitely people willing to sell out to put food on the table. But there are many different levels and tiers of selling out. The lower tiers will eventually strip you of your dignity and humanity.

It doesn't have to be food - as in people starving, something I could sympathize with somewhat. but simply a comfortable lifestyle.

Everyone has a different idea of comfort though. Comfort for some is tropical weather, warm weather, condo or flat vs. large suburban home or mansion. The perfect life partner vs. endless access to vice such as women, drugs, alcohol. For others, it's enough money to be 'comfortable.' While some want much more money than that. Some people want power as part of their comfortable lifestyle. The ability to see everything coming, no surprises. Other people want the ultimate in security for themselves and their family. Immortality can even be factored into some peoples idea of a comfortable lifestyle. After all, what puts a person more at ease than not ever having to face death in any of its many forms such as weapons, illnesses, viruses, chemical or terror attack, accidents, etc.?

I think wives pressure husbands. "Oh, honey don't mind the 50 crucifixions :vamp: you ordered this morning - your promotion is what we've been waiting for.". 😀

Food. As an atheist, materalistic things do indeed tend to be more important to us than nonphysical things. Love, of course, is an exception.

Not sure if honor has to be tied to religion. I mean, an atheist in the Army might feel that sacrifice is more important than material comfort - and also simply some atheist human rights or environmental activist.

No, I don't think they should be ashamed. You can't live without food. However, you can live without honor. Hell, you can become the President of the United States without honor!
