Pros:
I am liking the Poll of the week on the main index. It provides instant community-to-guest feelings and is the perfect content to start off with. I like the different images for each forum, it really relates to what is in the forum and they fit in very well. I also like the long descriptions. They are really detailed, and sometimes, fun to read. Like your Introductions forum

The ad placement is good, it is a blank ad (white) and isn't really in my way. It may just make me feel compelled to click it. The top posters on the column is awesome. It is real people posting, not "ADMIN 1,2365 posts; USER: 1" it really shows off how active your forum really is.
The shout box is right at the bottom and fits in the best I have seen. It doesn't have an error for guests saying something like "Permission Denied". It is pretty interesting and I like it. forums are arranged very well and look good on the guest end. It looks very enjoyable.
Cons:
Your theme really shouts 'doctor office'. It has that generic clean feeling about it. Get down and dirty and install some really nice themes! Or at least have a selector for members to choose an alternative theme. I also think you have too many login boxes. You have one on the left of the logo, and you have one not to far on the sidebar to the right. It also includes a link to login in the NAV. I would chill down on that area for now.
The recent posts is sort of messy to read and I can't tell what posts are posts. Try cleaning it up a little more, or see if it will work on another theme. also, try using different images for the Board stats area. It is all the same bar graphs. It is repetitive and kind of.. weird.
I would also work on a logo that matches the theme and is a bit bigger. Right now, it looks like you want to say you have a logo, but you don't want too many people to hear it. Have one you are proud of, get one made and implanted and show it off.
Final/General Thoughts:
It is a generally nice looking forum, not many of its kind. I would improve theme wise to keep the originality intact.
