everything can get viruses... if it can execute codes then it can get a virus, if it can't execute codes it's not a OS 😉
I've coded 100's of viruses for mac... it's simple as hell and find it more fun and easy than windows... linux get less viruses than mac and windows...
(note: I coded them for educational purposes to see if I was able to and to see the effects of said codes. I have not in any way coded anything for malicious use.)

But it's waaaaaaay less common than a PC, and we haven't gotten a virus in the over 15 years of having a Mac either.
So clearly it's better than having a PC for viruses.
Mac OS X is very good with telling you if a program or something you downloaded from the internet has malware or something. It'll let you know before you open it.
But either way, Safari is good about that too, telling you if a website has a potential threat.

I'll admit anything is better than Windows... but you state PC yet Linux get less viruses than Mac...
I've never liked Mac OS X and find it to be very poorly coded and made, too fat and doesn't look good to me... When I was testing out the Mac OS X and my virus creation, it never once showed up anything of it being a threat, it welcomed it with open arms...
I've also never been a fan of safari and find it very slow and looks like a dog that's been stung by a wasp... so I've never checked about it's security values...
