Well seen as you have decided to mention my name, I won a holiday and only got 24 hours to sort my business out and get stuff sorted before going on holiday. As unlike kids on here I run a full time business with my wife, so sorting that out took priority other a forum "job".
The plan for me was for the review team position to be a long term thing but the holiday made me realise I no longer enjoy forums in terms of running or being staff, so had THT not removed me while I was on my holiday, I would have probably packed in anway, I sent THT an apology for leaving like I did but end of the day iy is only a forum so when it comes down to it, it does not matter.
As for you, you got a job on The Hazey when it was a forum and quit after only a few weeks and was very unreliable and I was constantly on your back and the same with phpBBC when I owned it but you had you reasons but in future unless you know you facts keep me out of your posts!
I'm leaving this thread open for now but if any flaming does start it's gone in a heartbeat.
Secondly, applying for jobs in any capacity, be it on-line or in real life , you will always get bypassed, the fact of the matter is you have to keep trying until such a time as you are successful, this goes the same for everyone, it's how the system works. Often if you are bypassed it is simply because someone better shone out during the selection process, there will come a time when your application will be the shiniest.
Thirdly - I can't speak for other forums but here at FP I quite often get confused by your username, there are so many Dans, Daniels etc and all have different histories here. I would suggest you find a username that makes you stand out from the crowd and stick with it, that way you won't get confused with other members when it comes to us deciding 😉
As I said, I already have a real life part time job that I've been at for two and a half years, but for those people seeking their very first job, that I can agree with you there. It doesn't matter if it's online or in real life, you'll always run into problems at work. While some issues that happen on the job are unavoidable, there are just as many issues that can very easily be ignored, and it's such issues that need to be ignored. It doesn't do any good to complain about them, otherwise you can and in some cases probably WILL lose your job, depending on how strict your employer is.
