The front page is very long, ie. not user friendly. People are turned off by that.

The forum is also very long, for such a small forum. I'd group most of the forum and expand upon user demand.

Good luck.

I'll agree you have way too many forums for a website of it's size..

But the front page is fine, on the most part. It's length vertically is never a problem. I don't know one person who'd complain saying he doesn't visit a webpage because it's 'too long'..

Your important parts (the links) are at the top where they should be. So I don't see what's not user friendly about the main page.

However, your Site of the Week being too wide for the main site is pretty shabby, you should fix that up.

Lovin' the style though.

Consider this. If you look at page impressions pertaining each section, ie. header, sidebar, footer, body, you'd get more impressions at the top as opposed to the bottom. For a new forum, no one will read every single little detail that goes down that whole page.

A new guest has about 4 seconds, or reads the first 19 words before he/she decides to register or leave. Something "in your face" like that homepage will give off bad impressions. Also, its bad for the website. If you decide to place some feature or poll right at the bottom of the sidebar, I doubt many people would see it.

Its not user-friendly as the such as the recent topics, or that Site of the Week. The recent topics are the topics that get your posts, ie. activity. If no one sees them, or is tempted by them, you're losing valuable members/posts. That Site of the Week is the first thing you see, and people may be tempted to visit that site instead. Its all bad for the owner, and basically suicidal.

Also, 1 bigger link/image to enter the forum (like on FP), in much more beneficial, as opposed to a small, dainty link. The front page needs a lot of work.
