I have heard much talk recently about Manuel Almunia wanting to play for England when he is qualified to. There was also some talk about Mikel Arteta playing for them, but he said his first international choice is Spain.

Would you welcome Almunia to play for the country and would you welcome other foreign players to play for the England team?

Personally, I think one would be fine but I would hate if it became a regular thing.

I wouln't have a problem with it... Almunia seems a good keeper anyway -lol-

Even though i am an Arsenal supporter, I would say that the England team should be for people with english Parents otherwise i can see this happening alot and the England Team would be like a mix of different countries.

I don't agree with him playing for England. I agree that they should have English parents. It just doesnt seem right that you could have a Spanish guy pulling on the Engand shirt because he isn't good enough to play for Spain.

No, simple as that

If their not good enough for Spain, then why should they be good enough for England?

Give them to Scotland or Wales, they need all the help they can get lol

~lol~

To be honest, I would not mind having Almunia in the England squad. If you look at Spain's current crop of keepers you can guess he is never going to get a chance. BUT I don't want it to become a habit where if they don't get called up they will just wait until they are qualified to play for England.

I am sure Fabio Capello will make the right decision though.

I think that foreign players playing for England is a really stupid idea.

It is called the English National team for a reason. It is not the English national team and Foreign players that aren't good enough for their own country and have played here for a few years so can play for England team.

It should only be English players playing for England. It will turn like club football if you can play for other countries.

After watching Almunia recently I think I would rather have Paul Robinson back in goal. -lol-

He messed up on Bentleys goal big time midweek -lol-

Paul Robinson seemed to play quite good at the weekend... He made a really really good save right near the end of the game.

Paul Robinson is better than most goalkeepers, he is certainly better than his replacement, Gomes. ~lol~

He cracks me up when he's in pain looks like he's laughing -lol- -lol- -lol-

And he is useless from corners
