As the title says, i don't know how but suddenly my forum activity stopped now one is posting but they are visiting can anyone help me why ?

First in. 😀

Make sure you keep up your activity too. I know that when your post count increases, you start to become disheartened and wait for people to add content and not yourself. This comes across as you not being bothered, so why should they be?

Also, start doing post exchanges when this happens. This is always a great way to cover up the slight lull in activity before it picks up again, and you gain FP and posts, so more trustworthy here and cash for services here!

Also, try and advertise more. Nothing says "I want you to be here with me!" more than a Sig ad, text links all over the place, or hopefully Organic Traffic from Search engines!

In addition, make sure you give a reason for your members to stay.

For example, forums that have competitions or goals for the users to achieve have higher activity than those whom of which just have posts. Look into a points system for constant dedication!

Hope this helps 🙂

Would be quit useful, I just gave a broad overview of tips, but I can help you with custom ones if you give a link.

If you don't feel like posing it publicly, PM it to me and I'll be glad to help 🙂

I have forums I lov going to and just stop posting as there is no new posts. I usually only post topics after I have spent time replying to other topics, so you play a big part in keeping the content pouring out smoothly.

Farside has the right idea here.

If I was active on the forum, but no new active content was being posted by other members, you would feel as though the zombie apocalypse has struck and you've been abandoned.

So keep up your activity, or emply somebody who will in times of need. There are plenty of services which provide them, but I'm not here to promote them 🙂

A posting competition with real $$ for prizes always seems to work from what I've seen on other forums.

Either that, or a permanent feature to keep activity up throughout. You don't want to have to keep holding competitions every month to keep activity going, it can become frustrating and tedious..

Or it could bring in a bunch of spam posts or users who stay there for the competition, get the prize, and leave. (Not intended to be a negative Nelly, but that's how it sometimes does happens)

Totally agree. 😀

That's what I try to do as well. Of course, some forums are strict with posting certain topics more than once, so naturally I'll go through and see what is already being discussed so I don't try to implement the idea myself only to find there's a topic based on the thing I want to talk about. And this has happened to me before without realizing it. I didn't get in trouble though; just got a friendly reminder and my post was merged with an already existing topic.

Your forum overall is still in its infancy from what I see. You are also getting a LOT of guest hits at this moment--over 500 people have been on your forum recently or at least some time today! I would take so much advantage of that traffic! First, what do people come to your site to do? I'd say, get advice on how to be a better admin or learn about different software. So, start like 10 or 20 new topics on this stuff right now. Give people something to respond to. Also it will get those December dates off the front page, that is probably why out of those 500 people nobody new has signed up today. They're looking for a forum that's got activity today.

another thing I like to do, is put up something catchy and new in the header. Makes it look like something new and exciting is always going on.

If you started your forum a month or two ago, you're in that stage that I've seen before, the not-quite-shiny-new-anymore lull that often happens after an initial burst of activity upon the opening. One main cause I've seen is the administration activity falling off. You can never put your feet up, a forum requires daily attention from its staff.
