I got my forum backup installed and in place.
I was just curious what file do i to to figure and get my admin login username & password, i can't seem to get a password recovery as my forum is turn off.
It can't every link i click even the forgot password link it keep going to homepage.
And i know my username and i think even my password
But i keep getting this error
You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts. In addition to your username and password you now also have to enter the confirm code from the image you see below.
You can still login (if your username and password are right).... You just need to answer the CAPTCHA in addition to providing your login credentials. If you get that message again then it means that either your username and/or your password are incorrect.

Well i was wondering if phpbb display name can be possible the same name as the username login for forum? because i remember my display name is michael but i forgot if my username is the same.
Anyway to figure out through the files if i can find my username, because the password im near sure i know what it is.
EDIT: It seems that i've used the right username to login, once i enter an random username i get a different error saying "username doesn't exist".
And that exceeded limit never goes again, usually in 15 min i get a free 5 login try before this pop up again, i have a feeling its this error not letting me in and i got all the info login correct.
Unless you installed the mod we recently installed here, the login name would be same as the display name in all cases as that is the same thing (unless you install a mod like i said).
If your forum is offline, that might be why you can't reset your password (i am guessing your forum is offline by you saying "as my forum is turn off"). You might need to go into phpmyadmin and turn the board online through the database then reset your password and then login.
EDIT: No matter how long you wait, it will still show the exceeded logins" until you log in successfully. If you can't login successsfuly when answering the CAPTCHA then obviously something is wrong. I have got that many times here in the past and so has users when they can't remember their passwords and they all manage to get in again when using the right passowrd and answering the CAPTCHA correctly. If you read the error, it does not say you are locked out, it just says that now you need to do something else. They wouldn't give you the captcha to do in addition if you were completely logged out would they?
Click browse by the config table ----> Find the row "board_disable" and click edit for the config value it should say 1 in your case. If it does then change it to 0 and save it. Then you may need to clear all the contents of the cache directory (minus the .htaccess file and the index.htm file)
You should then be in. I haven't tried this so i take no responsibility for any damage etc that may happen but off the top of my head that should work.
