I run a cricket forum which is over 3 years old. I have always had good traffic (300 posts per day ) during cricket matches 450-500 posts . But the past few months traffic has dropped and many users have left. There was also tension between a set of posters in which some posters left. (the mods and I tried out best to resolve the issues but some posters just would not listen and forget the issue.
now we get about 61 posts per day at best even a cricket match is on. more and more posters are becoming less active. The forum has become a shadow of was it was. we even had meet up in London with a few posters on few times. we had planned for this June but did not happen as of the main poster that organises the GTG has left the forum due to a fall out with a few members.
I am upset as I enjoyed the forum and I had met up with some interesting people and I would hate to see it die out. I have tired adversing etc but with little luck,
back in Jan I even upgraded the forum software from phpbb to xenforo as it had more features etc but posters did not like it and proffered phpbb so i went back to phpbb. the problem with phpbb is that i find it hard to add more mods to it where as its much easier to add mods to xenforo like reputation system etc.
I have kind of run out of ideas. what can you suggest?
