Forum arcades?

Recently, I have had the idea of Forum arcades where different forums can group together to use the same currency and members can buy benefits for themselves through their accounts on other forums which are part of the same arcade.

The idea, I think, is excellent for roleplaying and gaming forums. What do you all think?

Arcade as in small video games? If so, then I wouldn't suggest it. Most people wouldn't use it plus actual gamers will rather play actual games with actual rewards.

From my experience I've found this to be quite accurate. You'd spend far more time setting everything up, and it does sound like something great. However, people simply don't use it as much as you'd expect. When it comes to playing games there's just so many more options out there now.

I had an arcade on my forum (not in the general or gaming niche) and ended up removing it soon after as the plugin did not work well, plus only a handful of members ever played the arcade games. It would probably go over well with a different forum genre my members weren't interested. Although, like GamingHandout has stated there are a lot of other websites out there if you're looking to play arcade games.
