Firstly, thank-you for selecting my message board, when I first saw it I was confused for a second, when you see a thread with your title not by you. :tearsofjoy:

@leangreen76 are there any specific threads on your site right now that you want to highlight?

HOW HAVE WEAPONS EVOLVED IN THE TF FRANCHISE?

TRANSFORMERS CROSSOVERS: WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

IF YOU HAD A DELOREAN....

@leangreen76, what has kept you loyal to ProBoards all these years?

I would say the free and easy to use service. I have been with ProBoards since 2002 so have seen many different admin centers they've had for forum owners and how much the integration and customization has improved over the years. It also goes almost without saying that support at their forum is second to none, efficient, helpful and always respectful.

@leangreen76, did you develop the theme? What was your inspiration?

For the main theme it's all linked in with our fan-faction. Even if anyone has only ever seen the live action movies in recent years, or it's all they know, know there are the good Transformers - The Autobots, and the evil ones - The Decepticons. We same together on another Transformers board that turned into a roleplay forum for Transformers; where myself and some newfound friends created our own middle faction "The Renegades". After which on this forum we continued to roleplay our own faction's stories and adventures. Whilst there have been many themes over the almost 18 years, the current is geared around that faction of our.

I have trimmed some themes down recently, not enabling all but currently we have 25 themes, with seasonal ones for Halloween, Christmas and Star Wars day. Since 2002 I have always made my own banners and been into the design of the forum through that and colors, slowly improving over the years with a more significant interest in font over the last 4 -5 year+. Even some of the older ones I've gone back and improved on in Photoshop, if they were TV shows they'd be "Remastering in HD", so I like to think of them as just that remastered.

Yeah, I'm sneaky like that LOL You bring up a good point though and I think for future spotlights that I will start messaging the site Admin ahead of time to give a heads up!

Who designed the logo and other graphics that you have on your forum?

What changes do you think you'll add to the site in the next year or so?

The only thing I can't obviously take credit for are some of the backgrounds and backgrounds in banners. (Although 22 / 25 banners in themes are stuff I've photoshopped together) All the rest from the title, the logo and the custom icons I have designed myself. From humble beginnings in Paint shop pro 7 to finally acquiring Photoshop years later, it's been a history of self-learning and improvement. I have especially gotten more into different font over the last several years with many different ones on my computer!

I can't see too much changing within the next year. On Friday nights we've had a long tradition of a live chat night, but the source will have to change as it's flash based and that's gone the way of the dodo these days with a warning that it's being phased out. So we will have to find a new free service for it over the remaining seven months of this year.

EDIT I saw in the original post just now about the history and never answered it so:

Back in late 2001 I got my first computer, it was a hand me down - my sisters; on first got on the 'net. One f the first things I wanted to look for was somewhere I could read Transformer comic like I did as a kid. I grew up and moved on to other comics come the age of 11 and for years I had dreamed about though those comic, toughing them, the feel of the paper, reading them again. I found a site and ended up joining their community forum first.

Eventually I felt like venturing on my own, but ended up creating a sci-fi forum first which ran for almost two years, very successfully for a year and half of that. Later in the year I wanted to make my own Transformers forum, some of them were rather "up themselves" and I wanted to talk to other fans on my level as I grew unsatisfied with this site. At this time I had also joined another Transformers ProBoard (Who also hosted my sci-fi forum) and for a long time things were good there but ultimately the original admin was unskilled and wanted to move us all to another ProBoard for the sake of not knowing how to change the colors. Moving would be one thing but one night the admin wiped the board clean of all content - just deleted it all, infuriating everyone. Relationships, friendships had forged but all the fun laughter and banter had been wiped clean. So most of us refused to move with the old admin and stayed put with the adminship/owner changing. It was then converted into a Transformers roleplay where we were allowed graciously to create our third custom faction.

All the above is relevant as some of the members fro there came over to my new board as well as ones from another TF community I was a aprt of just by having it in my signature. Some from the latter were more enamored with my place and made more of a fuss about it (In a good way!) than I ever could. It was from that other forum that enabled us to continue to roleplay our new factions' adventures at my own board. Things had gone a bit stale at the first board, so one of the members from the second board kindly let us use his rp rules he had adapted for our site. Over time I had a team who continued to adapt and change these rules with character creation weapons and points and such that it grew and grew. Thanks to our small team I would say we developed one of the more sophisticated Transformer roleplay implementations out there.
