How do you think this idea sounds?
For example after a user acquires 1000 Folk Points at my forum they can trade them in for a sticker of there chioce?

I actually think that sounds like a great idea. Not only will it keep people coming back to your forum, but it will allow you to advertise your business. I would make sure that the sticker is something that they would actually find attractive though instead of just your site. It all depends on the execution.
However, if done properly I think it could be a very powerful marketing tool. Great idea!
I'm ordering some stickers, and t-shirts tomorrow.. I've also got it setup to wear users can trade my folk points to have ads removed from view and even have a video on our featured video spot!
I'd go for it. However, you might want to introduce a new type of points or reset current ones. The reason? Then it would encourage users to make new posts, instead of just buying stickers with already made folk points.
