Keep it simple, clean, and don't let your eyes travel across the screen, center it. I think the phpbb ProSilver has that where the forums travel across the screen, its a big no no. Get lost all the time, also find a good font, and stay way from anything that looks like "Comic Sans" it's a sin in the design world. Also I think the \/ shape on the selected tab is redundant, we know where we are based on the color change /contrast. Finally I think you should choose one shape across the board. Don't switch, Facebook does that and I think it doesnt work. It works for google+ though, its circles threw out. So I think you should choose between circles or squares. Anyway good luck.
