I can't answer for 'other communities' as I'm not sure how I would find out this was happening. On my forums, I PM the member and ask them why they are acting the way they are. Sometimes people are just having a bad day.
If I have to PM the same member a second time, they get a warning to stop. The third time, they are informed they are receiving a 6 month ban.

If that member is already a member on my forum and not causing problems, I do nothing but wait. I don't moderate anyone based on what they're doing at other sites because that's not fair to them.
If that person is NOT a member at my site and he's doing something illegal or borderline illegal (and there is proof), I might not let him join my site.
If that person is NOT a member and is just a troll, I wait and see if he joins. If he does and he starts to troll, it might be an immediate ban depending on how bad it is. OR I might let him ban himself out using the system's mod policies.

I take it into consideration but my decision is based off how they act towards MY forum! There's been some members who like to cause drama but it's directed towards certain other members.
If it's on my forum, I PM privately. I don't do it in public. I think if this is a new behavior & they are just having a bad time right now.

Any drama in the past on forums and sites: User would be getting a warning. If after that warning they stir more stuff then a temp or perma ban.
Also most forums then and some now have a zero tolerance for drama, harassment, and/or trolling. It truly does depend, but nipping it in the bud is the best course of action.

OK so what is defined as drama needs to be clear on your own forum/site too. I've seen some sites call something 'drama' just because you disagree with somebody or you get into a spit spat with someone over something. To me drama is actually way more than just that. We're all gonna have times we disagree with something or somebody. Don't cause drama does need to be clearly set for sure!
And again no one is gonna agree on every single thing you do or say. It's just a reality I think many need to accept. You've done good things on FP to me. Don't let outside people get to you.

It's not "Everything". One tip I learned is don't use Every, All, Nobody. Because it's impossible. I'm part of "everything" & you have not done any problem or drama with me. 🙂

It is wrong to judge someone based on remote actions and circumstances. I just give them benefit of doubt in my own forum
