I am wondering if anyone knows of any free forum hosting providers that allow you to use your own domain? I've had the domain for a while now and I don't want to start out on paid hosting as I'd like to see how the project gets on first.

I know IcyBoards allow this, but is there anyone else?

I know that Jcink Forum Hosting, InvisionFree and Zetaboards all allow users to use their own domains for free. (Though if you're going to use InvisionFree, you might as well skip it and go to Jcink Forum Hosting because it's got a lot more features and is actively being developed where InvisionFree has been pretty much abandoned in favour of Zetaboards.)

I don't know if forumotion allows users to use their own domains or not, or if there is a cost behind it.

I do know that proboards costs 14$ a year to link your own domain in (this is on top of whatever domain costs you have. So even if you pay for your own domain, there will always be that yearly 14$ charge.)

Jcink does has a single 728x90 banner ad that shows below the site's logo/banner but that's the extent of ads. (InvisionFree and Zetaboards both have that too. And proboards is even worse with an ad slot above and below the forums. Plus for a while they had advertising whenever someone registered an account. I don't know if that's still there now or not.)

Ok, thank you. I've just been browsing the Jcink website and their demo board and I really like the look of it. They also have some great styles as-well.
