Forum Hosting?

I am considering starting my own forum hosting service "sandlapperbb.com" what are somethings that folks here consider when purchasing a forum host? What software do you prefer?

If your unsure about what you need etc.. i wouldn't start a host.

Make your own software.

Allow people to edit templates and css.

That will get you more people, most people like to stand out from the crowd with a unique theme, allow them to do that.

I would say you should use MyBB or phpBB if you don't want to make your own software like death180 said. Other than that, you should allow them to edit the files, install mods, and make backups of their forum.

Oh yes, forgot that. Backups are the biggest thing. If you allow users to make backups, most people won't need to leave because they could do everything they need to. ANd they would have more secure forums.
