Forum Idea - Pets? Coding? Etc?

Hi everyone,

I have recently been thinking of ideas for a new forum that I want to make, although I am not really sure on any "unique" ideas. I want an idea that if done right, could bring success.

I have been quite busy as a moderator here and with school starting up, I don't know if I will be able to handle having a promotion forum, so I am looking into other options.

I am thinking about a pet forum. Do you guys think that there would be room for success going into the pet & animal niche, or should I go for something else? I do really like pets, as I own a few.

I am also super tech-savvy and love to program/code, so I could also try a coding forum, although it seems a lot are popping up lately.

What do you all think? Do you have any suggestions? 🙂

Well to be honest, make a forum based on your hobby. If you think you can talk non stop about pets then make a pet forum. If you love the tech-related discussion then make a forum about technology. The thing most people do wrong when opening a forum is that they'll make a forum they non little or nothing about and a few weeks into the forum if they don't see any success they'll shut it down as they wouldn't know what to do.

Pet forums aren't so common on the web, so you should give that go if you really like it. There are a lot of tech-related forums opening these days so the space for being unique is really narrow.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I do think technology is out due to there being so many, it would just be too hard to be unique.

I might go for the pet forum - I have a few ideas but do want to hear what others think as well. 🙂.

Pet forum would be a good choice IMO. I have a heck load of pets and I'm sure many other people do aswell, that and I haven't seen many pets forum in my time here at FP.

If you decide to go with a pet forum, I'd suggest that you pick a generic forum name, i.e. a name that could be used for a forum on all types of pets, but start off by focusing mainly on one type of pet. Make your forum the best it can be, for that type of pet and then expand to include discussions on other species.

A pet forum would be a great idea as others have said there really is not many out there and if it is something you know about go for it
