Hi guys,

If you recall, we had a Community Conversation on our Discord channel back in March, discussing a number of changes that we were looking to make, and the forum layout and our new directory add-on were widely discussed. This was five months ago, so I'm certainly late to the game on addressing these discussions. Anyways, as far as the forum layout goes, there have been some interesting changes. The Promotion Directory has been brought to being only one section, as it was many years ago. We felt that we could roll with this with the implementation of our new directory page. The directory page is still a work in progress in terms of bringing all of these active advertisement topics to the directory, so please bear with us in that regard.

You'll see that we have hidden our Community Reviews forum. It's now a sub-forum under Website Management. Given that we disbanded our official review service nearly two years ago, it seemed like it was time to take that off the main page. You'll also notice that we have introduced some new webmaster discussion forums. The forums that are totally new are Software Talk, Content Creation, and Monetization & eCommerce. These forums have been introduced for now, but we'll see how it goes. If these forums don't go over well in terms of activity, then we'll definitely look to mix things up again. These new forums have very little content at the moment, so we will be working on moving the relevant topics buried within Website Management to their new designated forums.

Finally, you'll just see that titles have been reworded a little bit. Nothing special. Promotion Tricks & Help was changed to Marketing & SEO. Software & Hosting Discussions has been changed to Web Hosting & Domains. Also, you'll notice that there is now Web Hosting Offers within that forum. We've got a number of web hosts that utilize FP, so this forum will be a location where these web hosts can share their services or any special deals that they are offering. The hope is that web hosts will be interested in offering exclusive discounts to members of our community in this forum. Also, we have reintroduced the Website Appraisals sub-forum, which is another thing that FP had once upon a time.

Anyways, bonus points to those peeps that go and use these new forums right away. They're waaaayyy too empty.

Feel free to share your questions, comments, and concerns, and hopefully we'll have everything looking nice and tidy here shortly.

Ohhhh, and the package request template is once again built in whenever you create a new topic in the Posting Packages forum. I guess that is one feature that we never brought with us when we upgraded to XenForo 2.1. Anyways, it's not exactly the same as it was, but it's there nonetheless. Hopefully this will make requesting packages a little bit easier on everyone.

The same amount of boards as before but all renamed to merged into place. Got to start to get used to the new layout now LOL Then again it's been the same layout for the past 10 years or less. Do you all agree it's a good idea to bring back what FP had back from the start in the old days? or at least have a more modern look.

Personally I'm not fussed, but these boards refresh hopefully beings in more members, then again I doubt it. After 10 years about time the boards are adjusted LOL

Lets see how thins go 🙂

I m going ahead and dropping a big bomb here. Expect a revamped package service and its related announcement in the next couple of days.

Once the new sub-forum gets created for my surprise I'll post the announcement for that too 🙂 You know @Cam! that idea I've been working on with post exchanges?

Yeah, I know not everyone will see the purpose in an aesthetic change like shuffling forums around, but I think change can be a good thing. I know we aren't your typical webmaster forum, but I'm hopeful that we will see more webmaster discussions with these new forums. Before, our Forum/Site Management forum was just a catch all for every webmaster aspect, but now we have a little bit of organization in that realm. We'll see how it goes.

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it.
