Started forum over 3 months+ now and still wondering for members,, people that sign are either spammers or from the exchange central of this forum (FP).

I tried different methods adding new things but the forum doesnt seem to be going at all. No members no staff just getting me bored, Is it best to sell domain and forget about it or continue?

I'm also thinking to get someone involved in the forum like partnership without investment. but just cant think of anyone that would be willing to be involved in this.

Sometimes it's really hard to get new members, even after basic promotion and SEO. Perhaps it would be a good idea to implement something unique that would make the users want to join and stay. For example, regular community events.

I tried TM people comes and read the information then never comes back after they get what they came for,

Is the forum, the one that's linked in your signature?

Yes thats the one kavin

For a 3 month old forum, i would expect lot more topics and posts, if i'm looking for a forum to join and post.
Try filling it with more content. Hire people to post in your forum. Run a competition, etc.

There are many sites covering what you're covering and because of that you have got to find a way to make your site stand out from the crowd. People don't like change so why would they post on your site as opposed to another tech forum is what you got to ask yourself.

Killuminati, i agree with you even me i prefer forums that are running when i first came to forumpromotion i was thinking is it worth the change from digital point. Then DP changed rules so i decided to find new forum and thats when i decided to give FP a go and ever since i been regular on FP. I know you have to continue posting for people to get interested but i just get tired to quickly... and besides moderators charged me BAF and FP$ and never showed up apart from he first 2 days.

You've been running a forum for only 3 months... Forums generally don't take off that quickly. (Especially if that niche is fairly saturated with a lot of big players. Since, like others have mentioned, why would someone join a fledgling site when they could join one that's been around a few years and has a history of stability.) So you really do need to give it more time.

Most sites fail within the first 2-6 months because:
- After the first month the new forum feel (or honeymoon) is over and then the real work begins. (AKA the posting and advertising.)
- people get overinflated expectations. They think "I've made a forum. People will flock to it." When that's just plain wrong and almost never happens (never presume it will happen to you). And a lot of people don't want to join brand new sites because they're afraid that around the 2nd or 3rd month the owner is just going to decide that the site didn't do well enough so they close it down.

So if you want to make your site a success (which you should be careful to define success... what is success for you? What are you trying to achieve?), you need to keep posting and adding more content. Posting can be tiring, but it is vital to the survival of the forum. It might not be fun or exciting, but that's just part of being an admin.

Sure you can hold a contest to try to spark some interest, but it's only really temporary. Content will always be the most important part of a site's success. Without content you have nothing to hold people's interests really. (And you can't rely on members to post all the content for you... Though if you've paid for people to post and they haven't then you need to take it up with those sites offering that service. Find out what's going on and why those people haven't done what they're supposed to. And if they don't complete their jobs then you have the right to demand a refund because you paid but never received the service you paid for. )

But also never stop advertising... Use sites like FP, use twitter, put your link in your signature on other sites your active on. And keep promoting, try to get into a regular cycle promoting your site. ( I heard from a professional advertiser once that it takes 7 views of your ad/link before a potential member even remembers they've seen your ad/link before. So you have to constantly and consistently keep advertising your site.)

If you're getting discouraged and frustrated at running a site, maybe it's time to take a few days away from the site to relax and reinvigorate yourself. Then launch back into the site and forge ahead.

And I know this probably won't be a popular bit of advice, but if you're finding that you're getting discouraged, frustrated or tired of doing all the work necessary to maintain a site too often (or the feeling just isn't going away and you can't keep motivated) then maybe it actually is time to close the forum down. And go back to being a member for a while and not worry about all the management aspects of running a site. Plus I'm sure that other sites out there would appreciate having a new member (and one less site trying to compete with them).

VirusZero, nice advice thanks for those words, I'm trying hard still not yet giving up but its just not easy to see no one coming and the moderators dont seem interested either. I just want to see tiny hint of the forum doing ok then ill push more but at the moment seems like dead end.

If you are advertising your forum on low quality forums then the visitors would of the same quality, they are looking a way to put a link in signature only.

To make a forum active, admin or moderator participation is very important, you should answer every question with good help, quality information, don't let any spam content stay in your forum, as soon as you see remove them..

Thanks, I do remove spam but problem is I think the niche i chose is not easy to work with as the moderators are not interested so I'm in 2minds.m If you have time please check and feedback on the forum the link is in the signature. I would really appreciate it if you can check thanks in advance.

Hire an active moderator or admin to keep the spark going. Its important to have the main admin/mod super focused and dedicated towards your forums success - so if you are feeling demotivated - hire help!

The thing is your forum should look heavy, quality forum it should create authoritativeness in the eyes of visitors..
