Forum Pet Peeves

I can't stand moderators breaking the forum's rules, and then later on, enforcing them on another user.

I hate a forum with the Admin that doesn't post more than ALL of the members.

What? I'm the third largest poster on my forum. Why is that? Because I've got a hell of a lot more to do than posting random crap in the spam forum. On top of being active on the forum, I have to deal with other general management including promotion.

My main global moderator is the top poster, because her job is dealing with the members. Geez.
For much of my forum's existence, I wasn't even in the top five in terms of post count, though a less apparent stat was that I was, by far, the leader in starting topics.

My name being attached to so many opening posts aside, I was nonetheless a big presence on the board because I was online so much, I answered all support requests, and I worked on the forum so much that nobody even needed to see me to know I was up to something behind the scenes. Not to mention I invited most of the people.

Post count only matters when it does count, ie. support questions, greeting new members, responding to feedback. An admin that achieves that is more active than one that spams a games topic etc.

Ive always been the top poster on all of my forums. However one member is creeping up on me. But he has more game posts and I never (if I do its very rare) participate in game threads. So even if he beats me, I still win. 😀

A huge index, and a forum that you can tell was meant to be something else.

Like a nice general discussion forum, and then... BAM! a whole section dedicated to graphics.

- Lazy staff
- Unfriendly/Power abusing staff
- Not being able to view or access forums as a guest (I can understand it if you're offering resources, but otherwise there really isn't any reason for it.)
- Too much chit chat and no real discussions.

Any forum with arrogant, unfriendly staff is incredibly unappealing. I don't like staff on forums who have an ego the size of Canis Majoris. A severe lack of activity (no updated topics within six months) also hurts.
