Forum Plugins For Wordpress

I have tried multiple plugins to create forums on Wordpress. I have used bbPress, Discussion Board, wpForo, etc. Running a forum on wordpress is simple than using forum software like phpbb or SMF. Since wordpress forum plugin are free to use, you also do not have to spend money on software subscription. What forum plugins have you tried?

Mainly just wpForo and bbPress.

wpForo was always the better one.

However, I integrated SMF into WordPress back in the day and that worked really well. I remember doing that with vBulletin 3 as well.

I believe integrating forum software into your Wordpress blog would work better than trying to use one of the plugins. I haven't used Wordpress enough to get a feel for the forum software, but I feel like a plugin for a blog system will be a more watered down forum script.

I use wpforo on my blog but only I have access to it and I just use it to make notes and keep records of anything important.

How did you do that? I've been looking for ways to integrate SMF into wordpress too.

I’m all for anything new or unique

I think for example that forums within social network groups/pages could be cool

The WP plugins might be too basic by default though

Some WP plugins are so old and updated several years ago.

Yeah, I'm hoping AI can help revive some of this. WP has been out for so long, entire generations of devs have started retiring lol

Hey sorry, not 100% sure what you mean by this

Means many wordpress plugins are deprecated and this doesn't serve anymore creating a new wordpress site for dummy bloggers.
