I've created tons of different rules topics over the years. Are you just wanting to copy and paste a list of rules?

Basically but mainly for a general kind of forum

I think one of the best things is to decide first off which rules you want and don't want for your site. On Christianity Haven we just have the basics but have a clause that staff can edit or delete posts and ban members for any reason.
Are you going to allow advertising in signatures? If not, add that to your rule list.
How about profanity? We don't allow it on my site so it's listed in the rules. You might not be bothered by it though so you could allow it.
So giving you a template is hard to do when it's up to you to decide which is best for your site. When Christianity Haven was beginning, we all who were creating it went through other sites and copied and pasted things and then agreed on what would work for us and what could be condensed into one rule.
What Cameron gave in his second link is a really good start so maybe add to that?
\copy and pasting rules from other websites is not a good idea unless you make your own edits then that's fine. each site is different anyway so you got to think up your own. Just think about if the site is like your own family and you think of a life for it lol
I run a general chat community as well and these are what I have http://chattingtime.purephpbb.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2 feel free to use whatever you need, but try not to copy it word for word if at all possible.
No problem. These were dug up from an older forum I once had. I don't care if you use these, but try to word it differently from how it is.
