Your Quick Review
Pros:
You got a nice choice for forum colors, a good matching banner, and I really like the design of the background. Looks kinda like a turtle shell, and really works well, probably my favorite feature on the design.
Cons:
The banner is good, but way oversized. You could actually remove the surrounding 2/3'rds around the text, and reflective bottom, and actually have it look more appealing.
The forum icons are very dull. I'm sure they're default, and they just don't look good. Big bold default dots just dones't show much creativity in the design or layout.
I honestly don't like how the forum's body layout. Your colors and design is good; but the actual look is just not appealing. The way how the topics/posts in each board looks on the end. It's just something new for me to see, and may just not be used to it, yet.
Alos, your Introdcutions board should not be up top. It's in the right location, but should actually be the last board in your top category, so all Important forum related content is displayed up top.
Final/General Thoughts:
You've got your basic for a new forum services site; but doesn't seem to hold up much, when compared to the other competition on the market. You can get these, and more, elsewhere. Running a forum service site is quite easy to start up, and most members will join just to have a place extra to advertise, but keeping them interested, and active, is very challenging, especially with all the competition around.
What was most liked about the website/forums:
The colors used for the look. Very cool and soft blue colors used on white.
What was disliked most about the website/forums:
For me, I just think of it has the many forum services sites popping up lately, and not much put into it. I do hope for the best, but these are very hard to keep up and running. I just don't see yours offering much benefit for members to want to join and stay active.
