Forum Software Demos @ The Hazey

The Hazey is always looking to bring in new and useful features to the site and we have seen numerous topics and questions about different forum software, well with the help of Softaculous members can now try out 10 types of forum software, including phpBB, MyBB and SMF.

All you have to do is click on our Demos page and then scroll down and click the try me button for each software, you will then be taken to a full working demo of that software and you will be given a username and password so you can test out the entire software including the admin panel, this gives you the ability to try before you commit to one software.

A big thank you to Softaculous for giving us permission to link to their live demos, this saved space on my hosting account and it gives you the members a great feature, enjoy!

So it's just links to a feature on another site? I can see it being useful, but if you installed the demos yourself that'd be cooler. But also very server intensive. Either way, nice one.

I was going to add the demos myself but It would have taken up a lot of space plus they would have all needed monitoring for spam, this way any issues are dealth at there end etc. If it proves popular I may look at going the whole way and having them on my hosting account.

Ive seen them on a few other sites before, but they included a comparison of softwares and included paid ones too 😛

Anyway if you host them on your server a cool feature would be the ability to switch between forum demos via the actual forum demo page, for example:

Im in a phpBB demo and I want to go to MyBB, there'd be a small drop down box at the top with the option to switch to a MyBB demo 🙂
