Forum Software Opinions Needed!

Well, it's been quite a few months since i least heard from this topic.

I'm not too fussed with changing software at the moment, but if it were to change my new vote would have to be IPB. I was trying out IPB 2.3.5 last night, and must say it's absolutely gorgeous ~smile~

I have used IPD, PHPBB3 and VB as a user and admin, and i had VB for a year and it was great, I got a leased licence, and the mods for VB are superb, phpBB can simply not compete with VB, the only reason phpbb is so popular is because its free, but if you want the best software then go with VB, you won't be disappointed. I wasn't when i got it.

I have personally gone of vb with their latest release (3.7) as it is just no longer a forum software and more of a social networking software as we don't want this forum to be like myspace or bebo with their myspace style profiles where you can leave public comments and set up social groups and so on. For some types of forums it would work but for a promotion forum i don't think it will.

this forum doesn't need an upgrade to IPB or VB. The forum is doing fine with phpBB.

MyBB is nothing like vb... It looks alot different and offer nowhere near as much.

i never used the phpBB 1.x.x brand

i didn't use come across phpBB until 2.0.16

Im not to bothered but I like IPB board's the best as their's so many skins and add-ons.
