The idea of having my own place to form a community on a new forum has always been appealing to me. I love to build websites and forums.
The name is .. Well I like to see myself and any webmaster as a person who is addicted to forums and websites, therefore AdminJunkies was on my list of names that I would pick. Among the list were; AdminSymposium, AdminPanel, AdminNetwork, AdminJunkies, AdminMarketplace, AdminChat, ForumMarketplace, Forum2Forum, AdminExchange.
Large giveaway contests will happen a few times a year. Smaller contests bi monthly or so.

So far it’s a solo effort. There is not much activity yet but I’m hoping to get a decent moderator soon. I have a friend who’s on staff, but she’s having a hard time to find time as she’s busy at the moment. Also can’t forget to mention Nomad and Heatman on the Package Team for providing top quality packages. Thanks for the kind words !

Did you invest a significant amount of money on software, hosting, domain, themes, addons? Do you think ad revenue, member donations or account upgrades will help offset those costs?

I think so far I’ve invested around 600-700USD. It’s a hobby like any other, I suppose. I don’t plan on making it back this year, but having some income from it next year would be great. Although community quality comes prior to revenue. Google ads start making some revenue, so that’s building up slowly.
