I just want to say thank you for giving us the forum spotlight this week. It brings me joy to see we are being recognised by the community.

What made you decide to get started with JoyFreak?

I've always had a passions to run a successful forum/community and gaming has always been something I've enjoyed since childhood. I can't say I play games as much as I did when I was younger due to my studies and professional work but it will always be something that's close to my heart.

What’s the story behind the name @JoyFreak ?

So this one is kind of a funny one. I was a bit of a nerd and loved tales about vampires and such. I used to be a member of a social website called VampireFreaks and was intrigued by the word "Freak" and came up with JoyFreak.

What was your hardest and maybe stressful time that you had to deal with while running the site?

Honestly, it was when I had a lot of uni work at the last year of my undergrad. I think it was a stressful time to be running a forum/community and being able to be active.

How long has your forum been around? @JoyFreak

Since 2018. Although, JoyFreak dates back all the way to 2007 when it was using VB3 and was a MMO/MMORPG forum. Was a little too young to run a forum/community but it all started there.

What is your favorite game to play?

Pokemon games.

Yep, well then what made you go with a dark then light theme?. And will you have more themes in the future for people to choose?

Even that I like the theme anyway 🙂 It goes well 🙂

The light theme is the default theme but we also have a dark version. I went with light because all websites should be light and offer a dark theme as an alternative. All major websites do this.

Currently, prefer to keep one theme as the main theme so its kind of like its signature theme and everyone can recognise it easily.

Gosh, I don’t think I can tell you in hours but I think I spend too much time on it than I should really. I should be focusing on my studies right now as I’m 2/3 into my masters degree right now.
