Forum Staff Members

Hello,

How do you go about selecting new staff members for your forum? And Why?

I have a feeling I know who you are.

To be honest, I don't really pick staff members.
A lot of the time, people jump the gun on promoting mods they really don't need.

But, when I do need staff members, it's usually someone I know really well and generally know the character of, so there won't be any issues.
If there aren't any, then there will not be any staff members other than myself. Better to have none than to have a bad apple.

My staff members usually wind up being people who have served as mods / admins on other sites before.

Yes i usually ask someone that is active on mine and that have been on mine for a long time.

I pick mine based on one's activity, and competence on taking up the job.

I don't have an choice, For small and not so active site I post it out on FP and just wait and here from those that are interest then I go from there. Most that are interest have good backgrounds.

Yet my staff aren't from FP. One from the very start and the other just find the site just by googling and then join.

It's still a work in progress, I would like to see it much, much more active. I'm hoping to have all updates applied by the end of this year and then hopefully we'll see better growth and more activity. 😉 -- I like Bayside Gamers too!

I would always look for someone who was very active and offered to help members a lot. Sometimes I’d pick friends too normally when the forum just started, though.

I typically prefer to pick members from my community who have been active participants and are typically respected by members. I want someone who cares about the well-being of my forum. What better way than to have a person who loves my forum as their home too!

When I first open though and barely have members I typically ask friends to join and see about promoting them if they really do get active.

There is usually a certain group that is interested, so I let them do it. Anyway, they've hung around promotion forums for so long, I'm sure they know what they're doing.
