Do you keep your personal life and your "forum life" separate?

As in, you don't talk about forums out in the real world.. Everyone you know in the forum world, you do not know in the real world?

I kinda talk about my personal life online but dont talk about forums in real life

Same here. I like being able to get away from people I know in the real world to chat with a different crowd. Its like a secret double life. 😛 Well not really. But that makes it sound exciting.
:cheer:

Yeah, people online seem to be more interesting half the time too haha

Yeah, they are both separate, but that's the Internet.

Everyone I know well online knows my real name by now. I also find myself discussing my real life a lot. There are a few people on my forum that I know in real life, because really - good members are good members.

However, I'm unwilling to let my forum buddies friend me on Facebook. I put up those blocks after it got seriously out of hand. Now only a former admin of mine on my last forum has me as friends, probably because I'm afraid to offend him.

Most of my good real life friends, that aren't on the forum, know I own one. They just don't know how online communities work, or aren't interested in the topic. Periodically, I'll post links to a funny topic on my FB wall and they'll reply to it, but it really ends there.

As well as that, my current forum and the one before it are/were both centered around writing, and I'm really the only ''hardcore writer'' in my group of friends. A few friends write short stories and poems, but it ends there. So there really isn't much I can do to get them involved.
