Forumotion has a new forum software: AwesomeBB, but its in beta.

Forumotion has been around for a while. They're not a fly by night company.

If you are looking for a free forum option, you should give them a try.

While I did not test myself those free-forums, all I can say is that in my opinion, going to the paid services, Invision is best for me.
Even though it's a bit expensive, you really pay for having great features.

Assuming Forumotion offers similar features for the free-option softwares, I'm sure Invision will be acceptable.
