Yeah the domain you need to get your site averaging about 100 posts a day.

Well it's the average I think. 300 one day and maybe 10 another day. :S

I can say with bad experiences with forumotion, stay away from them. The major problem with them is the support forum, you can't do anything there without being banned or warned with their fake warning system. Hence forumotion runs on phpBB2, they have no features which a normal phpBB3 host has. They also don't tell the truth, the main software is phpBB2 and they say its phpBB3, as they've coded a few extra parts to their crappy software.

I could go on for days, but that is all I'm saying, my main point is: STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

I don't join free hosted forums for a few reasons, the design for me on a forum is a big thing, even if I'm not a fan I wont judge by that but on Forumotion I will because the styles are poorly put together and are just simply not appealing to me.

Also I feel that free hosted forums simply wont get very far, yes you get an awesomely active forum but it's simply not the same, the administrator is very limited to what you can do and suggestions that benefit the actual forum are very low.

Forums need to look good as well as be active and have lots of content and mainly free hosted forums don't look good and are plastered over with adverts, the odd advert here and there is fine but free hosted forums like FF.org, I hate them.

I do not even pay attention to hosts anymore, I have seen great forums on free hosts and paid hosts and it doesn't affect how I like the forum.

The whole point of this topic was regarding being a member on a Forumotion Forum, not running a forum......I think you can enjoy/hate being a member on any kind of forum whatever the software 😉

Oh, well in that case - yes I would join a forum on forumotion.net

I would join any forum on any host as long as it provides good reasons to.

I probably wouldn't join if the forum was on forumotion.

There's always free hosts like these guys who can give you a spot to run a phpBB (or some other software) forum.

http://www.365-hosting.net

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to install a forum (after all, there is something called instructions), or even easier, via. Fantastico (if phpBB or SMF is your option).

Who cares man? He knows how to host his own forum, install mods, and all that hunk of junk. What would it matter to him anyways if he can't even get himself a Forumotion forum?

yes i have made 3 forums from forumoyion because it is an easy host to use...but to get more custom things i use ProBoards

A really big NO to forumotion. Their security sucks, they have limited features and you can't customize your forum that much.

No for me, first I do not like their support as it isn't backed up well enough and it takes them like 48 hours to reply back. They takes codes and snippets of off other softwares and customize it into their own and security sucks real bad. Not only that but two of my forums have been hacked, via another administrators account and believe me his password contained about 26 characters or something.

After what happened with Forumansion my thoughts on Forumotion changed drastically x3

No, because you can't backup your database, it can easily be hacked, & domains cost $20!

So, you guys above are saying that you wouldn't join a forumotion forum because they don't let you export the forum's database? lol.

I understand if a forumotion forum is hacked, then you wouldn't want to be a member or visitor a forumotion forum because the hacker can insert a malicious script in the forum or use frames to malicious scripts on the index of the forums. But silly little comments like the ones above wouldn't make you NOT join a forumotion forum. And, for the ones that says, "It is easy to hack", try hacking a forumotion forum first then say if it's easy to hack or not. ( most of you don't even know how to hack then comment saying something is easy to hack when you can't even hack a simple website with a security hole )

I said from the first page of this topic already, I don't care what host they're using, as long as it loads quickly, the host is trusted and the content is useful, then I'd join. ( even if the forum is freely hosted by a free forum host )

If you are a forumotion forum owner, then you'd have to worry about the database of the forum and what features they don't offer you for your forum. And, almost every FREE forum host is like Forumotion ( not giving you the forum's database, limiting you with limited features, etc... Forumotion is just the best free forum host that you'd find on the Internet.

Also, for people that talked about forumotion support not as good as you wished it to be, then look at other hosting companies and compare it to Forumotion. NameCheap domain support & GoDaddy hosting support takes about 2-3 working days to get an answer to solve your problem. With Forumotion, if it's not a coding problem ( because most forumotion staff are clueless when it comes to CSS problems or template editing problems or scripts ) , then you'd get an answer back in less than 1-5 hours. ( They should have hired that Dion dude when they had the chance... RoNo is fine but doesn't answer a lot of problems like Sanket )

And, to all the staff of advertising or promotion forums, without FREE forum hosts, your members would be limited by a lot because they're the ones that joins your advertising community to advertise. So, you people of all people, should love FREE forum hosting companies.
