Forumotion

No I don't, I hate forumotion. Crap features, useless support. But I use paid hosting anyways 🙂
 
I did, then fell into a massive ditch. Luckily I sold it when activity was high and had solid stats. If you choose forumotion, you may as well just quit before you even start.
 
Nope. There is no option to move off the host, therefore, i don't feel it's worth it.
 
I made my forum with it and it failed . Finally moved to paid hosting . Dont use it , it might seem easy and user friendly but you hardly get to customize anything . And the charge for custom domain and ads removal is too high !

Well, there is a chance to get a free domain, so that shouldn't be a main concern. Ads are shocking; in fact, the whole thing is just bad.
 
Back when I was a free host user, I always used Forumotion. I found it easy to customize the skins.

Haven't used Forumotion for years now.

Forumotion has got crappier over the years. The support for example, its terrible now. And thats only one.
 
Just get a free host on wehostyour.info. It has cPanel, Fantastico (with phpBB and SMF on it), and more.

And if you can afford it, get the basic hosting package at Hawkhost which has cPanel, Softaculous (phpBB, SMF and MyBB) plus a lot more.

Sofaculous actually update their scripts by the way...
 
HawkHost actually offer both Fantastico & Softaculous. Plus you get the reliability of a paid host and you get access to a weeks worth of daily automatic backups via your cPanel so you can restore files or whole directories.

Sometimes paying out a small fee does give you alot more in return. I think paid hosting is one of those things. It is only a few $ a month but the control and reliability you get is really good and worth it.

Free hosts like forumotion aren't always reliable and you get hardly any control and you are stuck with them for life.
 
Forumotion is not worth using because of the fact they wont give you a backup.
 
I used it, i am using it and i will use it in future too, to me forumotion is the best free forum hosting provider and their support is great. I am doint a great project with them at the moment and will launch it in a month or so.
 
Forumotion was the very first host I ever used and they were cr*p. I had a hundred different things wrong with them, and I think that is the huge reason why I had trouble settling down to a host, free or advanced. If I had just done my homework, I would have never gotten into that rut in the first place. I would have had a 2 year old forum, with decent activity going and everything. I know they say it's not good to live in the past, but really, I'd never use Forumotion again, nor would I recommend them to anyone else. I also refuse to join up with Forumotion hosted boards anymore for the same reason, no matter what the community is like overall.

LMAO, there support is crap, ban someone for having a joke. They don't accept any suggestions and a strict 45 second flood control.
