Family doesn't have to be blood related. Maybe in certain circumstances they do, but not for this situation.

Although I can see where your both coming from, but Shotgun makes more sense.

I would consider them to be my 'like' family. I've known a person that started talking to me when I used to play Runescape at level 3 for 5 years now. I consider him my family. I believe it just takes time.
