Hello everyone! We have some fun and exciting news here, regarding the FP Lottery, which is found by CLICKING HERE.

What is the news?

The news, is that we have decided to make it so that everyone has a more equal chance of winning the lottery, by lowering the winning chance from 100% to 2%. 100 % meant that if 1 person entered, they were going to win back, what they put in, if 2 or more people entered, it then adjusted for the number of people, and the number of tickets, and picked randomly among the total purchased tickets.

So here is how it will work now, the Jackpot starts off holding 0.00 FP Cash per round. The value of your bought tickets will go into the Jackpot. The more players, and tickets purchased the round has, the higher the Jackpot will be of course. After the draw period, a winner (or even none) is selected by random. If no one wins that week's round, the Jackpot will stay there, allowing you to purchase more tickets, and the jackpot will grow even more! Making it so that you can possibly win a VERY BIG lottery amount!

Lottery Past History

When the FP Lottery was first established, the first 20 winners managed to get quite the bit of FP from the lottery. Then, as time passed, the lottery total kept getting smaller, as the novelty wore off, but still occasionally there would be winnings between 2,000 and 5,000 FP.

In the last couple of months we had an increase in ticket purchases, we even saw an two weekly lotteries that had a total exceed 10,000 FP, with one going up nearly to 68,000 FP, making that the largest ever won in the lottery! That winning amount was initially part of a plan to try to get ticket purchases to go up, by allowing the ticket purchase max to be not 100 tickets per round, but 250 tickets per round! But, it has noticeably started going back down again.

So without adieu, the winner now will less likely be consistently the same winner, and the lottery now has the chance to become even larger than the one that just recently became the largest! Who knows, some lucky user might win 80,000 FP or more with this new lottery system!

I hope the best to all those who now want to try out the lottery!

To get this started, I have added 5,000 to the Lottery Jackpot out of my own funds to kick start this! Now lets get some ticket purchasing started!

Sounds good, I'll go and purchase a few tickets. 🙂

Just added 110 FP$ to the jackpot myself. 🙂 Seems like a good update to me.

About time something was done to this rigged lottery system. The same winner would win multiple times, even up to like 6 times in a row. Then, it so happens an admin won the 68k lottery. Hmm? We will see how this goes.

First of all, it wasn't rigged. Secondly, most of the money went back into the community/is going back into the community. Joshua has also just added 5k to the lottery.

I thought that 5k was already there, not by Joshua.

Joshua added it out of his own funds.

That basically now means that there will be 1 winner every 50 weeks so pretty much one winner per year.

That is not going to encourage me to play more knowing that not only do I have to win out of all the tickets that week, I also have to select the right week each year to play or play every week to have a reasonable chance of getting my money back.

This is a good point. Can we change it from 2% to something else? Maybe 10%?

If you want to compare the coding to the last update to the MOD, you would see that it has NOT been changed at all to preference anyone. When it comes to low participates, or high ticket purchases, it just means that that person has an increased chance to win, even if he doesn't get picked, due to the number of tickets involved. So there is no preference, than a math equation related to the MOD.

SO I do no know where you are getting that exciting assumption, about it being rigged, other then the fact that a number of people can manage to win multiple times in a row, if not enough people participate, or if someone had more than just a few tickets purchased.

I added 5k to the lottery, as a starting point for the lottery, then deducted that 5k from my own account, which means I won't win it back, because I didn't actually buy tickets, I just added to the back end 5k, and deducted it from my own pot. 😛

Could do that.

What I mean't by "rigged" was that when I viewed the lottery, it had shot up to 2,500 purchasable tickets. Then soon after, it went back to 250. I am not the only one who seen that. Not saying the "coding" is rigged as coding is not going to place judgement on numbers and accounts. It's "how" it is setup that determines which accounts win, and when I see a max ticket count of 2,500..and then shoot back down to 250..makes me think things. Anyways, I'm not here to start drama as I rarely post on FP and just sit back and watch, I'll end it with my $0.02. Hope it gets worked out.

Updated the Lottery Winning Percentage to 10%. Will not chance it going any higher, so that it will still remain a fun part of the forum.

Sounds good. That means there will be a winner every 3 months approximately, right? (More precisely, every 10 weeks).

Statistically speaking, yes, there will be a winner atleast once in 10 weeks. But even then, statistics can be proven wrong. 🙂
