I am thinking about having a posting contest with the winner getting a free Top Level Domain of his/her choice.
I am wondering how many of you would be interested in participating? My forum is about English football, so I am looking for football enthusiasts to share their opinion.
I dont understand why you are giving something away thats not relevant to your forums theme? why not give away football merchandise, whether it be footballs, whistles, team shirts etc. 🙂
As in getting people from FP to post on his forum about his niche. Since people on FP could use a free TLD. He isn't running the contest directly to current members but more to the members of FP. Am I right?
I don't know much about English football or any type of football but if it were something I liked, i would definitely want to post for the chance to win a domain. This type of contest would benefit any domain, so long as the people posting knew about the subject and could post in depth. Just be sure to set good rules for the contest, or you will get lots of junk posts that have to be deleted.
As Beverly says "set good rule". I can't stress this part enough. I've read some topics about this before on other webmaster forums and people have had big issues because they didn't set rules in a good manner.
I understand you are aiming this at members here at FP to get more of us over there, but honestly, we aren't your target market. As Adam said, run a contest with something related to Soccer (I'm American 😛) otherwise you'll get some of us over there, get your post count up, and then a lot of members will just disappear. Where if you run the contest and it's related to your forum's niche, the people that will join and post will actually be interested in your forum and will be more likely to stick around.
this is a good idea but can you tell me "Registration Time of Domain" i mean how many years 1Year, 2 Year or lifetime??
if lifetime then its good, i am interested.. 🙂
