Free Forum Domains?

I recently ran a domain name search and the domain is available but there is a free forum that has the same name...The owner of the free forum has apparently not registered it. What should I do?

Can you be more specific about what you mean? Do you mean that a domain (e.g. blahblah.com or w/e) is available to be registered (aka bought), but it's already in use by someone?

Yeah...The domain is being used on a free forum host (Ex:mydomain.whatever free forum is being used.) The domain itself is not registered and is available to be bought.

You don't really owe the other person anything, but if you want to be nice, you can ask him/her if they want the domain first.

Since it's up for the taking and they have not grabbed it, it wouldn't be necessarily wrong to take it if you feel that you can run with it.

Well I notified the forum owner will wait to see what he says...I really don't want to jerk it out from under him but if he does not register it I will.

Meh, just register it. Ask for forgiveness, not permission. Sites have the same name all the time.

You can always register the domain name and then contact the site owner with the same name and try to sell it. 😎

If the thought of depriving them of it keeps you up at night, then don't do it o.o
Beyond that, I really don't know, it's fairly complicated.
