Hi -- we recently installed feedjit on the forum. It was great because it allowed us to see how effective linking at other sites was, plus alerted us to broken links. In fact, knowing about the broken links led us to finding a way to put up a special message for people who'd followed those links. As will all trackers of that type, it also made the forum look good by showing how many visitors we had from all over the world.
Well, a couple of the members who are always against innovation started squawking about invasion of privacy, yaddadiyaddadi on and on. They managed to infect others with their hysteria. Finally we pulled it to shut them up.
I've checked with feedjit, and the only way to get an invisible tracker is by paying for the advanced model. We also use Google Analytics, but it's not the satisfying instant feedback the feedjit was.
Can anyone recommend a free, reliable tracker?
