Free Tablet OS's?

Anyone know of free tablet OS's that are better the android?
I have seen Maemo any others?

Just wondering if there are any better ones.
Android is fine just not exactly what I wanted.

There's a lots of Tablets are available in the market with very cheap rates, infact China made brands tablets are available in a wide range. I have heard about Tabloid which is very cheap and easy accessibility OS.

I'm not looking for another tablet.
Just another OS's to use instead of Android.

http://www.ubuntu.com/ is the only popular free OS.

Not to go way off topic,but ubuntu is not the only popular free OS. There are many more popular free Operating Systems such as CentOS, Haiku, and FreeBSD.

@OP I am not 100% sure on this,but most tablets have no way to install a new OS. If yours is one of the few that can most Linux oses should work on it. There is also webos.

I'm not sure I can install an OS like I could on a PC as I thought.
