Free Video Editor

I've read through a couple old threads here on FP but things change over the years...

So what is a relatively good Free video editor?

Kdenlive and Openshot are both free. Kdenlive is fully featured but can be a little complicated. Openshot is pretty simple, especially if you're only looking to put together basic videos.

But I say it has not changed that much since the old days, and not to mention as there are free and more or less, not all will be good.

Yeah, I'm finding out that there are limitations to the free ones, so I want the best one I can get. I have one on my computer that I must have installed a couple years ago and it won't let me use some of the features since it's the free version so I'm uninstalling that today. I tried the Windows Editor and it's way toooooo basic.

going to be hard to get a free option that offers that other then a paid to cack software 😛

DaVinci Resolve is hands down the best video editing software I've ever used and it's free!

I just tried to install DaVinci and it's not going to work with my 7 year old laptop.

Any others? I don't need a ton of bells and whistles, but I do like to have some options that are better than Microsoft's video editor.

Maybe try Lightworks and hitfilm express 16

I have installed VSDC and am going through YouTube videos to learn how to do all the little tricks. If anyone uses VSDC and wants to throw some tips my way, I'd be grateful.

At the moment, I'm trying to create some short 15 second videos for my church to show some of the activities/community services and events we do throughout the week.
