make sure you pick a decent free host , not forumotion. yo need to have access to your forums backup to move your communityn to paid hosting in the future 🙂

oops. too late, i used forumotion. and i honestly think it turned out pretty good! 🙂

Well, keep in mind that if you do decide to move, Forumotion will not give you a backup. There are converters out there, but I don't think they're legal, even though a few administrators have taken that risk. So if you decide to move to a different host, whether it'd be another free host or even advanced hosting, they may or may not give you a backup of your database. From what I'm lead to understand, it doesn't sound like they're too lenient about that one. But good luck anyways! Personally, I despise Forumotion with a passion, having had a crappy experience with them in 2008, but to each his own, and we all have our personal preferences, so good luck with your site, mate!

thanks! il need it.. i made two other forum with forumotion and no traffic at all. so i did a little research, took some time, and made this final one. and it will be my last with forumotion. im not quite familiar with the phbb forum hosts or mybb.

If a free forum shuts you down {or closes down altogether} for any reason you have little if any recourse. You have many more rights to your site if you are paying for the hosting, even if just paying a little.
