Free vs paid AI chats – worth the upgrade?

So paid ChatGPT monthly in New Zealand is around $39 a month NZD. Is it worth this cost?

I think usually, yes. I am stopping my chatgpt.com subscription but only because I have access to GPT 5.2+ via my Cursor subscription.

I personally think that paid chatgpt vs free is like night & day. I highly recommend it if you are using AI and are in any way frustrated by the free versions.

I don’t use any of them enough to justify paying a bunch of money a month for it…when the free version has handled everything I have needed. I have enough subscriptions as is.

Paid is better, yet it's $20 a month so it's not cheap in terms of not using it every day, then again down to you as the user that really wants it.

Yeah same here, I don't use ChatGPT too often so I don't feel the need to pay for it.

I don't use Chatgpt that often to jusify the cost of it, but I invested the money into Grok as it's something that I use on a daily basis.
